Five foreign delegations came to congratulate the Institute of Philology, Foreign languages and Media communication during the celebration of the 100 years of the Irkutsk State University: University of Kiel (Germany), University of Cádiz (Spain), Liberal Institute of North-Eastern Normal University (China), Shinhan University (South Korea), Anshan Normal University (China).

 During the meetings, the director of the Institute of Philology, Foreign languages and Media communication Marina Tashlykova, deputy directors Julia Arskaya and Svetlana Malykh and the dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages Olga Kuznetsova, as well as the heads of the departments discussed expansion of student exchanges with the Shinhan University and the University of Kiel. On the table, there was a consideration of double-degree master programs, summer schools of Russian and Chinese languages, training for teachers at partner universities, and possibility for students of the Institute of Philology, Foreign languages and Media communication to receive scholarships of the Anshan Normal University.

"We are very grateful to our long-standing partners that they responded to our invitation to the anniversary of Irkutsk State University. Over the decades of cooperation with the Institute of Slavonic Studies of the University of Kiel and the University of Cádiz, many faculty members have developed good partnerships and scientific and educational cooperation. At the institute, there was a feeling that old friends had met, not just colleagues. Nevertheless, both long-standing and new partners came with specific proposals, on the implementation of which we are already starting to work. A valuable achievement for us was the resumption of active contacts with the Liberal Institute of the North-Eastern Normal University and the Anshan Normal University. At the same time, our interest in each other is not at all declarative: concrete steps in the educational field and in the area of cooperation between young scientists and teachers have already been planned. A relatively young partner, the Shinhan University, came with a proposal to expand internship opportunities for students of the Institute of Philology, Foreign Languages and Media Communication".
