In september 2018 associate professor of Orental and Asia Pacific Region studies department Ekateina Li took part in the 9th World Congress of Korean studies held by The Academy of Korean studies (Republic of Korea). The Congress was dedicated to the 40th universary of the Academy and gatheted over then 160 participants from all over the world. Ekaterina Li made a report on teaching of Korean language and moderated the session of lingustics. 

Global Youth Camp

In July 2018 associate professor Li Ekaterina and students of Institute of Philology, Foreign Languages and Media Communications together with students of International Institute of Economy and Linguistics (ISU) and Baikal State University took part in 2018 Global Youth Camp, organized by Gyeongsangbuk-do province (Republic of Korea), which is the sister-province of Irkutsk region. Our students were invited to participate in this Camp for the second time. For 5 days 100 participants from 5 countries (Russia, China, Vietnam, Mongolia and Korea) traveled around the Gyeongsangbuk-do province and got a lot of cultural experience, they visited the Administration of the province, Andong National University, Bulguksa Temple, which is the representative relic of Gyeongju (historical center of Korea) and was designated as a World Cultural Asset by UNESCO in 1995, and a lot of other sightseengs, took part in concerts of Korean traditional and modern perfomanses. The last night there was a great concert, where all the participants represented their regions. Irkutsk team showed traditional Russian and Buryat dance.
