07.12.2019 the VIII Regional scientific and practical conference for teachers of foreign languages in the Irkutsk region was held with the support of the Department of Oriental and Regional Studies of the Pacific Rim (Institute of Philology, Foreign languages and Media communication, ISU).

On the 7th of December, the VIII Regional scientific and practical conference for teachers of foreign languages in the Irkutsk region "Successful teacher is a successful student " was held at the premises of the secondary school No. 27 with advanced English learning in Angarsk and with scientific and organizational support of the Department of Oriental and Regional Studies of the Pacific Rim, Department of English Philology, Department of Romance and Germanic Philology, and department of foreign languages and linguodidactics of the Pedagogical Institute, ISU. More than 150 teachers of foreign languages, Russian, and informatics from schools of Irkutsk, Angarsk, Usolye-Sibirskoye, Shelekhov, Sayansk, Svirsk, Tulun, Cheremkhovo, Belorechensky, Bolshoi Lug, Markova, Meget, Molodezhnoye, Taliany, Parfenovo, Srednaya Muya, Haidai, Khomutovo took part in the conference. Apart from the traditional presentation and discussion of reports at the sections, the conference discussed the prospects of the prescribed Unified State Exam in foreign languages in 2022. So it was offered to hold master classes on methods and strategies for a successful examination in foreign languages.
