The series of events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Irkutsk State University continues. Today at the Institute of Philology, Foreign Languages and Media Communication of ISU the international scientific conference "Spaces of communication: language, literature, media" began. The conference is dedicated to the anniversary of the University.
The conference covers the studies of current problems of linguistics, literature and media communication, and includes the second O. M. Gotlib readings "Fundamental and topical problems of Oriental studies and Regional studies of the Asia-Pacific countries". Participants from Russia, Germany, Poland and China take part in it.
At the opening ceremony the director of the Institute of Philology, Foreign languages and Media communication ISU Marina Tashlykova welcomed the participants. She noted that this conference was “the first anniversary event dedicated at the same time to the 100th anniversary of the ISU and the 100th anniversary of the faculty from which the university began – the History and Philology Faculty (now the Faculty of Philology and Journalism ISU), as well as to the 70th anniversary of the Faculty of Foreign languages (the former Irkutsk State Linguistic University).
The conference began with a plenary meeting. There were papers of professor of Moscow State University Lyudmila Bogdanova, director of the Higher School of Translation of Moscow State University Nikolai Garbovsky, professor of Siberian Federal University Vladimir Datsyshen, representatives of the International Center for Education and Ibero-American Studies of Southern Federal University Natalia Karpovskaya and Ekaterina Korman, and director of the Institute of Philology, Foreign Languages and Media Communication ISU Marina Tashlykova. Then the participants continued to work in 17 sections.
The conference "Spaces of communication: language, literature, media" will end on 20 September.
